Larry Page and Sergey Brin: Inventors of Google

 

Larry Page:

Larry was born on March 26, 1973 in Lansing, Michigan. He now lives in Palo Alto, California.  He is the Co-founder and CEO of Google Inc.  He attended Okemos Montessori School in Michigan in 1975. He graduated from East Lansing High School in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan. He created an inkjet printer made of Lego bricks in while in college. He was the President of Eta Kappa Nu and was a member of the 1993 Maize & Blue University Solar Car Team.

He then enrolled in Stanford University for a Ph.D. in Computer Science. While at Stanford he met his Co-founder of Google names Sergey Brin. In 2007, he married Lucinda Southworth at Richard Branson’s Caribbean Island on Necker Island. He is a research scientist and a sister of the model Carrie Southworth. He now has one child with Lucinda. PC Magazine praised Google as one of the Top 100 Web Sites and Search Engines in 1998. Then Google was awarded the Technical Excellence Award, for Innovation in Web Application Development in 1999. In 2000, Google earned the Webby Award, a People’s Voice Award for technical achievement.

 

Sergey Brin:

Sergey was born on August 21, 1973 in Moscow, Soviet Union. He immigrated from the Soviet Union to the Unite States when he was six years old.  He graduated from the University of Maryland. At Maryland, he studied Mathematics and Computer Science. His father and grandfather were also graduates of the University of Maryland. His mother is a research scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. After Graduation, he went to grad school at Stanford University with a Ph.D. in Computer Science. He now resides in Los Alto, California near Larry. He is the Co-founder of Google Inc., a Computer Scientist and Internet Entrepreneur.

The Economist Magazine referred to him as the “Enlightenment Man”. In May 2007, Brin married Anne Wojcicki in The Bahamas. She was a Biotech Analyst and graduated Yale University with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Sergery’s mother, Eugenia, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and in 2008, he decided to make a donation to the University of Maryland School of Medicine where is mother is being treated. Him and his wife are working with other employees of University of Maryland to gain knowledge and help discover positive facts of this disease. Him and his wife created the Brin Wojcicki Foundation which was awarded $500,000 dollars to Wikimedia FOundation as it started its eighth annual fundraising campaign.
